How to get rid of negative past karma on Diwali

November 01, 2013

There are some special conjugations of the planets that may be present in the kundali/birth-chart which cause the kundali to be "cursed". The symptoms of this can be seen in people who despite being ardent hard workers and worshippers are not able to achieve much. Their past deeds/karma are such that they keep facing obstacles in anything they do and are hence you will have to struggle a great deal in life.

Festivals have social, psychological, religious, economic, and even astrological importance. So doing some remedies on such days can bring about great results.

Things you should do on Chhoti Diwali - 2nd November:

- Take a special bath called "abhiyang" - this needs to be done between 5:05 and 6:15 am (IST). I suppose you could take the 1 hour before sunrise in your time zone to figure out when to take this bath in your place of residence, but I'm not sure. Please write to me if you know of a definitive answer to this timing problem.

For the bath: first put some sesame seed oil all over your body. People whose work keeps getting stuck should also put some yoghurt on their forehead. Remember Shri Krishna and worship him. If possible, then take a bath in water that has been kept in a bucket for some time. Do this mantra: "om kling krishnaya namaha" while taking the bath.

- Worship Lord Krishna - om krishnaya namaha

- Donate sesame seed oil

- Donate a blanket to someone

Doing the above deeds on this day helps one get rid of negative karma of past lives and helps bring about fruition of some auspicious work in the coming year.
